UNL Funding

The University has four main funding sources:

  1. State-aided funding, consisting primarily of state funds appropriated by the Unicameral, and tuition revenue.
  2. Revolving/Auxiliary funds, which are dollars generated and used by specific university entities, such as some academic departments, athletics, student housing, and parking services.
  3. Grants and contracts, which are awarded to the University for very specific purposes and include rules for how the funding may be spent.
  4. University of Nebraska Foundation funds, which are comprised of financial gifts from donors.
