Contract Length -- IT0007

The contract length code is the SAP code that describes the number of months the employee is contracted to work and over how many months they will be paid.

The contract length code is descriptive only, meaning it is useful for categorizing data for reporting, but it does not control how payroll is issued.

  • Used for employees who work 9 months but their academic year pay is spread over 12 months. Usually faculty.
0310mo/10mo
  • Used for employees who work 10 months and are paid in the month it was earned.
  • Example: Grad Assistants (D1s) who work for the 10-month academic year and are paid in 10 equal payments
0410mo/12mo
  • Rarely used.
  • Used for employees who work 10 months and pay is spread over 12 months.
  • Always used in combination with wage type 1004.
05Summer Session
  • Example: Grad Assistants or Faculty who work during the summer session
06Fall Semester
  • Used for employees whose appointment is only for fall semester.
  • Example: A Grad Assistant or Temporary Faculty member, working for only the fall semester
07Spring Semester
  • Used for employees whose appointment is only for spring semester.
  • Example: A Grad Assistant or Temporary Faculty member, working for only the spring semester
08OtherUsed when no other contract length code applies. Most commonly used for employees with temporary appointments such as on-call and student workers.
09Spring Semester - 8 months (Temp Appt Only)
  • Rarely used.
1111mo/12mo
  • Used exclusively by Counseling & Psychological Services for counseling staff who are contracted to work the 11 months while students are on campus, but pay is spread over 12 months.
1212mo/12mo
  • Used for employees who work 12 months and are paid in the month it was earned.
  • Example: Managerial/Professional who works year-round (12 months) and receives a regular monthly paycheck.
