The Appointment End/Separation PAF is used to end an individual’s paid or unpaid appointment or separate them from the university.
- An appointment end action is used to end a single appointment when the individual has other active appointments.
- A separation action is used to completely end an individual’s employment and active status at the University.
Limitations for Use
- Do not use for employees taking a leave of absence or retiring
- Do not use for employees transferring to another department/area at UNL. Use an Organizational Change PAF. Org changes are used to make changes in an employee's position or organizational unit resulting from promotion, demotion or lateral transfer within UNL; adding or ending a position assignment; or reclassification.
- Do not use for employees transferring to another campus. When an employee ends employment with one campus to begin employment at another campus with no break in service, a Campus Transfer Out action is used to transfer the employee record out of one campus so that it is available for transfer to another campus. The Campus Transfer Out action is followed by a Campus Transfer In action.
