SuccessFactors is UNL’s system for recruiting, onboarding, and performance management. Initial implementation in September 2025 includes recruiting and onboarding processes.

Roles in SuccessFactors

Role	Definition	Examples of Users
Initiator	Can: Start the requisition process. Complete all requisition fields Complete background check details Cannot: Edit staff position job profiles in SuccessFactors.	Business Center of Unit HR Staff (also hold Facilitator role)
Facilitator Facilitator Team	Can: Start and manage the requisition process. Complete all requisition fields (if created the requisition) Move candidates through the pipeline View job profile/description Manage requisition process Move candidates through the review process Initiate offer approval and send final offer Cannot: Edit staff position job profiles in SuccessFactors. Move candidates out of “Pre-Employment Checks”	Business Center or Unit HR Staff (also hold Initiator role)

Search Committee Chair (if used)	Can: View and move applicants through the process on requisitions assigned to them. Note: If you don’t want the Search Chair to move applicants in the system, leave this field blank and add them to the Search Committee Team field instead.	Supervisor, Search Chair
Search Committee Team (if used)	Can: View requisition, applicant materials, and job profile on requisitions assigned to them. Note: External search committee members can be entered in an open text box but will not have access to the system to view applicants.	Members of Search Committee
