Inclement Weather Closure Pay

Time Entry

Bad Weather pay is coded as BADW and is used to record time absent for regularly scheduled hours for eligible employees during a university closure due to inclement weather (see Option 1 – Pay, within NU Inclement Weather Closure Pay policy). Banking bad weather pay (see Option 2 - Time Off, within NU Inclement Weather Closure Pay policy) is an arrangement with an employee’s supervisor and tracked outside of SAP and documented within the department.

BW Option 1 Examples:

Full-time BW, leave-eligible employee on 5DAY_8HR work schedule rule works 8a-Noon on a full-day campus closure due to inclement weather.
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM = BADW
4:00 PM – 8:00 PM = REG

Full-time BW, leave-eligible employee on 5DAY_8HR work schedule rule works 8 hours on a full-day campus closure due to inclement weather.
12:00 AM – 8:00 AM = REG
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM = BADW

BW Option 2 Examples:

Full-time BW, leave-eligible employee on 5DAY_8HR work schedule rule works 8a-Noon on a full-day campus closure due to inclement weather.
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM = REG
With supervisor approval, employee codes 4 hours of a future absence as BADW. Time coordinator must verify approval of bad weather pay when used outside of an inclement weather closure day.

Full-time BW, leave -eligible employee on 5DAY_8HR work schedule rule works 8 hours on a full-day campus closure due to inclement weather.
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM = REG
With supervisor approval, employee codes 8 hours of a future absence as BADW. Time coordinator must verify approval of bad weather pay when used outside of an inclement weather closure day.

MO Examples:

Full-time MO employee on 5DAY_8HR work schedule rule works 8a-Noon on a full-day campus closure due to inclement weather. At the request of the employee and with with supervisor approval, time coordinator codes 4 hours of a future absence for the employee as BADW via CATS. Time coordinator must verify approval of bad weather pay when used outside of an inclement weather closure day.

Full-time MO employee on 5DAY_8HR work schedule rule works 8-hours on a full-day campus closure due to inclement weather. At the request of the employee and with supervisor approval, time coordinator codes 8 hours of a future absence for the employee as BADW via CATS.
